Fort Garry Industries
Challenge:
Using existing branding and look, create a visual identity for the launch of Fort Garry Industries' value house brand, Fortis.
Context:
With its roots dating back to 1919, Fort Garry Industries (FGI) now consists of three operating divisions including an aftermarket parts and service division, an original equipment division, and a remanufacturing division which rebuilds brakes and other components. Years of experience and industry knowledge of OEM requirements led to a decision to boost market share through the launch a FGI house/value brand.
Result:
We created a visual identity that stands on its own but fits within the FGI 'family'. The Fortis products' brand identity is strong and sturdy. The clean look sends a message that Fortis products are of high quality, dependable, and a great value from a trusted brand in the market. Also, FGI wanted the new design to integrate the hexagon used in the corporate logo. The Fortis application took the hexagon to new places, incorporating an F into hexagon bolt and enabling FGI to use it as a stamp on its own.
