Strange and spooky art form Troy Tempest. I think these are his contribution to a planet of aqua women.

Just wrapped up the commercial shoot for 99.9 BOB FM, The hosts Beau, Tom and Frazier were amazing as usual. One idea turned into 9 - 15 seconds spots. We will post it here as soon as they are ready to air. Posters, websites, and some big University projects have this week a humming. We will be updating our gallery and selected projects soon.

Summer of Busy
Posted by Craig Medwyduk on Jul 18th, 2010
It's been a super busy summer at the studio. Prairie Theatre Exchange, Downtown Biz magazine, Half Pints Brewery repackaging, Multiple University projects and some upcoming projects... we are a rockin'. We have not forgot about the Guppy Club, we should have some stuff figured out by the fall... plus look for all new shirts and prints... the shop building in the studio has taken more time than we thought, but once its done... look out!
This is probably the funniest stuff we have seen in awhile. This guys loves rainbows!
peace.
Misfits poster printing
Posted by Craig Medwyduk on Jun 15th, 2010
Eric at Soul Survivors asked us to help with a poster for the Misfits show... Artwork by Darren Merinuk, printed by us, we decided to catch some of the action and technique. This will probably be the last poster done in the old studio (my basement). We are currently building out better facilities in our studio on Graham Ave in downtown Winnipeg. But for now enjoy...

Just in time for summer, we have heat...
Posted by Bill Crossman on May 21st, 2010
And air conditioning! That's right after 4 years of being on Graham Avenue we can finally control the temperature in the studio. We even have the Union Label as an endorsement. As soon as the air started to flow, this little baby came floating out of the vent. Now that that's under control I'm heading to a patio for some beverages. Have an awesome long weekend!
Plastic Paper
Posted by Kelly Leschasin on May 11th, 2010
Guppy's Leslie Supnet presents her installation piece for Plastic Paper, Winnipeg's animation festival.
Plastic Paper started as a mini-program at the Winnipeg Cinematheque in 2009 by film programmer Kier-La Janisse. After leaving the Winnipeg Film Group she decided to invest some time and money into making Plastic Paper a full-fledged animation festival with visiting artists, programmers, expanded cinema and various sponsors and volunteers to help make it all happen. Plastic Paper is part of Kier-La's umbrella film collective Big Smash! that includes other kinds of film related programming and education http://big-smash.com/.
Leslie was asked by Todd Brown (film programmer for Plastic Paper and other projects, writer from Toronto) to make an installation piece for the festival. Leslie comments "They were pretty open and let me make a piece about whatever I wanted. A couple of months prior I found a funny JPG online called "How To Care For Introverts", which was a scan from a book for parents on how to deal with introverted children. I thought it would be neat to make a satirical instructional video based on that JPG, like the ones you find on VHS tapes, about a heartfelt subject. Plus, I remember what it was like to be an introverted child. All these pressures to make lots of friends and to make eye-contact when speaking! It was torture. So I made a pamphlet to go with the video with a cut out coupon for patrons to order their own VHS copy of How To Care For Introverts."
Guppy designed T-shirt on The Price Is Right!
Posted by Leslie Supnet on May 11th, 2010
Today on national television, a Guppy designed T-shirt made it on The Price Is Right! The T-shirts, designed by Bill, were worn by our very own Kelly Leschasin, and his partner Theresa Kuzina. With a great t-shirt and some smart bidding, Theresa made it down to the Contestant's Row!
Things were getting a little tense mid-show, but finally Theresa's bid won, played one of the hardest pricing games on the show, and WON some major prizes! Including a new dishwasher, dining set, cordless lawnmower, and....a NEW CAR!
Congrats to Theresa and Kelly!
Remember to come on down to the studio store this summer and check out some of the new hand-crafted T's and other goodies by Guppy.

Good Stuff Brewin'
Posted by Kelly Leschasin on May 3rd, 2010
The Guppy crew has been working hard and having fun at developing new labels / packaging / coasters for a local microbrewery that we are big fans of. We will leave them nameless for now, but keep checking back on our progress.
Definitely looking forward to seeing which label design advances to the next round. Will it be Bill's, Craig's, Blair's or Mark's? Exciting! We've got a wide range of designs for this one, ready to present the client.
Bill received a congratulatory letter from the Mayor today regarding the Pollie award. Cheers! *Pint of beer klink noise*
Guppy's Silver at the Pollie's!
Posted by Kelly Leschasin on Apr 1st, 2010
Wondering what a Pollie Award is?
The American Association of Political Consultants hosts the Pollie awards and conference each year. The three day event is a nationally recognized meeting of the minds in America for those involved in the cutting edge of political advertising. The Pollie awards, hailed as the “Oscars of Political Advertising”, is the finishing act for the event. It's here that political consultants, public affairs professionals and design firms are recognized for their outstanding work in promoting their candidates.
¨ Silver for the Meister for Senate Logo awarded to Craven and Guppy Design, the highest honor awarded.
Senate hopeful Meister was quoted as saying “A Voice For Illinois was a brilliant slogan and logo created by Billy Crossman at GUPPY that truly established a concrete foundation for the campaign. Karen (Media Director) appreciated the theme and ensured that “A Voice for Illinois” was incorporated into everything the campaign produced, especially our media work with DECA,”

It is live, kinda
Posted by Craig Medwyduk on Feb 25th, 2010
We decided to make our new website live, its so easy to grow and expand every aspect of your site. Come back often to see what we are working on. The great folks at Visual Lizard have outdone themselves with our new content managed system, way more efficient updates and additions.
We have broken the site into 5 clients we have done some wicked stuff for, and an "about" section to learn alittle about us, a general "gallery" section which has an ever growing / changing sample of our design work, and of course the "studio store"... lots of stuff happening there. The Guppy Club is in the works, more on that in the next month or so.
It has been along haul, but we are trucking along!
thanks for enjoying the ride
Some things we are digging:
1. The Winter Olympics
2. Judas Priest
3. The Monsters of Folk
